Method
- Combine the marinade ingredients in a small mixing bowl.
- Place your meat into a gallon-size freezer bag or sealable container, then pour the marinade over the top.
- Make sure the meat gets coated on all sides by the marinade and seal your container tightly.
- Put the sealed container in your refrigerator and let the meat marinate for no less than 2 hours.
Marinating overnight is best, to ensure good flavor penetration. Don't let the meat marinate longer than 2 or 3 days, however, or the texture will suffer.
Notes
For a gluten free alternative to soy sauce, look for tamari. It is a Japanese ingredient, derived from the miso-making process, and is gluten free.
